തോ​റി സൂ​റ​റ്റ് എ​ന്ന ഗാ​നം ത​ന്‍റെ ആ​ൽ​ബ​ത്തി​ൽ​നി​ന്നും എ​ല്ലാ​വി​ധ ആ​ശ​യ​വി​നി​മ​യ മാ​ധ്യ​മ​ങ്ങ​ളി​ൽ​നി​ന്നും നീ​ക്ക​ണ​മെ​ന്നും വ​ർ​ഗീ​യ​ത ഉ​ണ​ർ​ത്തു​ന്ന ത​ര​ത്തി​ലാ​ണ് വീ​ഡി​യോ ചി​ത്രീ​ക​രി​ച്ച​തെ​ന്ന് സൂ​ഫി സം​ഘ​ട​ന പ​രാ​തി​പ്പെ​ട്ടെ​ന്നും സോ​ന ആ​ദ്യ ട്വീ​റ്റി​ൽ ആ​രോ​പി​ച്ചു. തോ​റി സൂ​റ​റ്റി​ൽ സോ​നം പ്ര​ത്യ​ക്ഷ​പ്പെ​ട്ട​ത് മാ​ന്യ​മ​ല്ലാ​ത്ത വ​സ്ത്ര​ത്തി​ലാ​ണെ​ന്നും അ​ശ്ലീ​ല​ത കു​ത്തി​നി​റ​ച്ചാ​ണ് സോ​നം ഗാ​നം ചി​ത്രീ​ക​രി​ച്ച​തെ​ന്നും ആ​വ​ശ്യ​പ്പെ​ട്ട് സൂ​ഫി സം​ഘ​ട​ന നോ​ട്ടീ​സ് അ​യ​യ്ക്കു​ക​യും ചെ​യ്ത​താ​യി സോ​ന ട്വീ​റ്റ് ചെ​യ്തു.

സോ​ന​ത്തി​ന്‍റെ ട്വീ​റ്റി​ന്‍റെ അ​ടി​സ്ഥാ​ന​ത്തി​ൽ സൂ​ഫി ഫൗ​ണ്ടേ​ഷ​നെ​തി​രെ പോ​ലീ​സ് കേ​സെ​ടു​ത്ത് അ​ന്വേ​ഷ​ണം ആ​രം​ഭി​ച്ചു. പോ​ലീ​സി​ന്‍റെ നി​ർ​ദേ​ശ​പ്ര​കാ​രം സോ​ന ഒൗ​ദ്യോ​ഗി​ക​മാ​യി പ​രാ​തി​യും ന​ൽ​കി​യി​ട്ടു​ണ്ട്.

I have received a threatening notice from the Madariya Sufi Foundation to remove my music video Tori Surat from all communication mediums. They claim that the video is vulgar,will flare communal tensions. Their letter has also called me a ‘regular offender’ & says that they find another five year old Video of me singing a Sufiana Kalam - Piya Se Naina on coke studio insulting Islam because I’m ‘dressed exposing my body’ & playing westernised music. The Madariya foundation along with the agreement of the Nizamuddin Dargah have an issue with the description of my Tori Surat music video, “earthy incarnations of the feminine Divine” & with “a sleeveless dress and body exposing dancers”. Basically with everything woman & free. This foundation claims to work for Sufism,peace & universal brotherhood in their threatening notice to me. I ask you & #India ,what about the ‘sisterhood’? Why is it that in this day & age the women expected to cover up, not sing or dance in public. I want to ask the Madariya Sufi Foundation, Chistiya Sufi Brotherhood & custodians at Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah Sharif these very simple but critical questions- 1) Are men & women equal in your eyes ? 2) Why are women not allowed to sing inside your Dargahs like the men? #Answers #India #misogyny #woman #rights #patriarchy #callout
